Noche Buena in Singapore

It’s a Filipino tradition to have noche buena on Christmas eve. It literally means “good night” but it actually pertains to a feast. This year, we had noche buena at our flat with two couples – Brian & Elma and Joey & Gelle.

I decided to ask Dad for his hamonada recipe and made the sauce but used pork steaks so it would cook faster. It was my first time so I was nervous, but it tasted just great. Then Ervyn made Shanghai rice and mango float while I made some punch with fruit cocktail and jelly.

Brian brought his DSLR camera with all its gadgets (tripod, external flash, remote control), so we had lots of great pictures. He also brought champagne which we used to toast Christmas. We even had presents. I got three new tops from my flatmates and a Barbie doll from Joey and Gelle. It was a very merry Christmas indeed!
